Looking for a great vacation destination this year? There are several hot ones around the world that are luring new visitors as well as repeat vacationers. Why not try a new destination for your next vacation?

Thailand is a great international destination that suffered greatly after the big tsunami, but it is back and thriving! Since the number of tourist has drastically gone down, prices are better than ever and the beaches won’t be as crowded. Thailand is full of fascinating culture and great food, plus it is super economical!

Japan is another Asian hot spot. It might surprise you to learn that this hard-working country features some of the best ski slopes in the world! But that’s why they have twice been the location of the Winter Olympics. They are attracting ski buffs everywhere and rapidly becoming a popular place to vacation. For spouses who aren’t interested in snow and cold, there is hot springs to relax in.

London is the perfect place for party animals. The city features world-famous night clubs that go all night long, as well as some great historical sights if you aren’t too hung over the next morning! This British destination is also home to some of the world’s best restaurants as well. The great thing is that you can almost always find incredible discounts to fly to England.

Athens is yet another famous destination if you enjoy night life, on a more relaxed level. Greece has a lot to offer besides clubs and pubs, so even if you prefer history over drinking, you will be right at home. Try renting a motor scooter to tour the countryside and enjoy the amazing food that Greece has to offer, along with the historical sites.

Mexico has always been a hot destination for tourists looking for some heat. These days, Cancun is the place to be. Featuring stereotypical white sandy beaches, perfect blue water and a variety of water activities like swimming and jet skiing, this resort town is Mexico bumped up a notch. Since it is so close to the US, if you are American, you can travel easily enough by plane or car, for a decent price.

Italy is another European destination that has become popular after the incredible fame of Dan Brown’s books “The DaVinci Code” and “Angels and Demons”. Set in Rome, the books and resulting movie have peaked an interest in this religious city. The ruins and historical value of this country is astounding and well worth a visit. It can be romantic whether you travel alone or with a partner.

Our last international hot spot destination is Brazil. This South American country is best known for its shameless beaches featuring topless women, but it offers a lot more! There is a wild nightlife for those who like to party and a very strong mixed culture that features foods with influences from around the world. You can also check out the Amazon River and go for a hike into the rainforest.

International destinations are in right now and it is the moment to take advantage. Book your airplane tickets ahead of time to avoid problems and to get the lowest fares possible, pack some sunscreen, and enjoy!

The Dominican Republic Is An Exotic Caribbean Destination

If you are looking for an exotic location to enjoy a late summer getaway, or perhaps an autumn break, then you could do a lot worse than go to the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean.

The island was named as “hot for 2007″ by the Association of British Travel Agents’ (ABTA) members, and this year alone, bookings have increased by nine per cent for the destination.

ABTA’s Frances Tuke said: “The all-inclusive packages in particular have been a massive hit for families who know they have to stick to a budget as everything is paid for upfront, but the destination also offers so much more for the British holidaymaker.

“Not only are there fantastic beaches and watersports on offer, but if you want to get away from the crowds, there is breathtaking scenery in the form of rainforests, mountains and waterfalls. The cities also offer a vibrant culture that has a Spanish colonial past.”

The Dominican Republic is the second largest island in the Caribbean. It has the highest point in the West Indies, the Pick Duarte standing tall at 10,414ft, and also the lowest point in the West Indies, Lake Enriquillo which is 148 ft below sea level.

Christopher Columbus first stepped ashore the island, which he called Hispaniola, in 1492. Consequently, the south side of the island boasts the oldest city of the New World, including the first hospital, first sugar mill, and first cathedral.

The capital city, Santo Domingo has Columbus’ Palace, the Alcazar de Colon, the 22-room home of Don Diego Columbus and his family. It was built in 1510, and then underwent restoration in 1955, a wonderful mix of Gothic and Moorish architecture.

The capital also has a buzzing street life, which is quite unique. The streets are awash with colour and music, the finest example of which occurs during the Domincan Carnival that takes place between February and March.

The second largest city on the island is found on the cliffs above the Yaque River, called Santiago de los Caballeros or simply Santiago, but it is the island’s next largest city, Puerto Plata, located on the north shore of the island which has become the most popular tourist destination. Nearby Sosua, La Romana and Punta Cana to the east of the island also have a growing resort population.

The Dominican Republic also has some stunning landscapes, with much of the island covered in mountainous terrain. There is plenty for nature lovers to explore, from semi-desert plains to green valleys and tropical rain forests.

There is also the Cordillera Septentrional mountain range, which runs between the Atlantic coast and the Cibao valley. It was here that Spaniards used to search for gold. The Cibao Valley is also famous for growing, harvesting and marketing tobacco, and its cigars are an important income for the island. It is easy to arrange trips to soak up this nature from most of the island’s tourist centres.

But for many, the number one thing to do on holiday is hit the beach, top up the tan and relax. You will have no problem doing that in the Dominican Republic. With its characteristic laid-back Caribbean style, the island has approximately 400km of beaches to enjoy.

With first class All Inclusive hotels such as the Bahia Principe and the Riu Bachata it’s the ideal place for an All Inclusive holiday.

Package deals can be found for most of the white sandy beaches along the country’s northern shores, with the between Puerto Plata and Cabarete proving to long-standing popular places with sunseekers.

Unsurprisingly, the watersports are excellent as well. Snorkelling, sailing and scuba-diving can be enjoyed in the unspoilt water along the coast, or you could indulge in deep-sea fishing or championship golf along the north coast of Playa Grande.

What Is Destination Marketing?

I ran across a respected website where they were talking about “Destination Marketing” where by implementing a model where the website that a person lands on when clicking through a search result becomes the end of their search – in other words, a resource that fits all of their needs and is essentially the first and last website they will need to surf to in order to get their questions answered and their problems solved.

In the past it has been all about attaining the top 10 positions on generalized keywords and keyword phrases in a particular niche. While the content was there, it wasn’t the total package because webmasters and companies were more interested in getting on the first page of the major search engines rather than wondering what would happen once that desired flood of traffic arrived.

One thing I realized was that our firm had always built Destination pages and used the idea of destination marketing to not only get our clients great results in the search engines, but also have the pages where visitors arrived ready to be a one-stop solution package that the company could offer as both a resource and a platform for selling products and services.

Getting high rankings we have long known is only half of the equation. In order to attain and maintain high rankings as well as the tops in customer satisfaction required that we develop marketing strategies that took into account both search engine optimization for landing pages always delivered with a focus on providing exactly what the arriving and prospective customer needs.

In a way, the definition of Destination Search Engine Marketing is a desired destination point. In order to attain this status every marketing campaign needs to achieve top rankings and go that much further to meet the needs and desires of a specific target audience. When a site becomes a resource that people tell others about and point and return to, it has become a destination website. In a way, it is like having a resource booklet with links, sources, materials, products and services that are aligned with the search engine message and always in total sync with why a customer clicked on the SERPs results.

When one looks at SEO, rankings are at the top. Getting good ranking is what it’s all about. Knowing that is the start and not the end all to search engine marketing, many companies are now going beyond the traditional search engine optimization techniques offering clients the ability to create exceptional webpages that are tightly focussed and designed to satisfy arriving web traffic.

By taking the focus off of just getting high rankings in the search engines and looking and dealing with the total presentation, this new term Destination Marketing is in many instances like our firm already at the forefront and on the cutting edge of this marketplace.

Having a name for this methodology is great and the article went further to back up what we’ve said all along. Destination SEM is developing a website that is a cut above the mediocre SEO only sites. It attains high search engine rankings because it is not only optimized but highly deserving of those search engine results. When visitors arrive at websites they will always feel that they have arrived at a site with the complete answer to their problems.

Clients, as a result, can offer products and services, rapidly build and maintain credibility and increase ROI at faster rates. Going at it from the idea that by building an incredibly good and useful site and as a result gaining high rankings is a concept that is building in popularity and one that we’ve used successfully for our clients for quite a while.

The big picture of utilizing a destination marketing approach comes in the form of additional exposure and positive company branding that a client will receive when they shift paradigms from getting high search engine rankings alone. Not only will traffic arriving be more satisfied, it is a known fact that people drive the Internet.

One satisfied customer will tell another one who will tell another. The flipside to that which many firms have suffered is that if they are only optimized to get a visitor to their site, their credibility will suffer and trust will decrease based upon what the site offers to an arriving web surfer. What that means is that conversion rates and sales profits will decrease according to the level of professionalism, friendliness and amount of useful information provided when visitors arrive.

Destination marketing is about asking yourself a question every time you start out to build a page or pages for your site: Do you simply want an average/mediocre site that only half delivers? Or, do you want a site that goes viral, where the amount of good, useful information transforms it into a resource that everyone is looking for, will bookmark and return to again and again.

Answering that question is what makes the difference between having a good site and a great site. Destination marketing is all about making fantastic, useful resource sites that are authorities in specific niches.

Destination Wedding – Langkawi, Malaysia

More and more brides today are choosing destination weddings over traditional
ceremonies. Couples are now looking to add an “exotic twist” to their big day.

Formerly, destination weddings are the exclusive domain of celebrities and the ultra – rich and famous, however in recent years it has become accessible and affordable for anyone and sometimes it’s far cheaper comparing to traditional wedding back home.

f properly planned, a destination wedding can not only be a saving, it can also turn your wedding day into an unforgettable “vacation” for you and your guests.

There are several reasons why destination weddings are getting more popular now days.

1. Destination weddings often combine the wedding and the honeymoon.

2. Having you wedding away from home usually means that only the closest friends and family will be invited or you can choose to be alone just with your partner.

3 Destination weddings allow you to host a less formal wedding or an out-of-the-ordinary ceremony.

4. Return to a beloved place or to be at a dream or exotic location.

Langkawi has fast become a popular destination for couples who wanted to have their wedding abroad. There are many spots in the island that you could have you wedding hosted. Furthermore, most hotels and resort in Langkawi offer wedding packages customised to different needs and budgets. I have written in my previous posting with regards to possible wedding venues in Langkawi.

Destination weddings can be fun and relaxing experience for you and your guests. In fact, most destination weddings are easier to plan than your hometown ceremonies. Most importantly is you need to planned it together with your partner.

3 tips for success in planning your destination wedding.

1. It’s essential to know the local laws and regulations to make sure your marriage is legal (if you choose to have legal registration). You should research the country’s marriage laws and ensure that you the necessary documentations, visas and that your passport is up to date. Most hotels and resort here should be able to provide you with information and assist you with this. These resorts have officers specially assigned for weddings and they are all competence with those local regulations and laws. Or there are plenty of destination wedding specialist or agents here in Malaysia or your place that will be happy to help you.

2. If you bring your guests along you may want to be sure that they are properly taken care of eg. are able to find a suitable accommodations and so on. Make sure that your guests gets plans that are convenient, affordable and closed to where the action is (if they are not staying at the same resort with you). Try to organise a tour (before or after the reception), gifts or a luncheon for them. After all , they travel all this way to share and be with you for your wedding.

3. Check out for group or early bird discounts with hotels/airlines, tour operators and restaurants. Furthermore many hotels and resort here offer variety of wedding packages or could customised to different needs and budgets.

Caribbean Destination Wedding Planning Tips

Have you decided that you want a Caribbean destination wedding, as opposed to a wedding at home? If so, you will need to make many plans. To get started, please continue reading on for a few helpful destination wedding planning tips.

Research your options. Before deciding on a destination wedding in the Caribbean, it is important to research. Of course, find affordable airline reservations and overnight accommodations, but look beyond that. For example, some all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica give you a free standard wedding ceremony. In most cases, very few restrictions are involved, such as a 5 or 7 day stay.

Make wedding plans. As previously stated, some all-inclusive Jamaica resorts give you a free wedding. If you opt for these resorts, be sure to make your plans in advance and ensure you get a picture perfect wedding, even if it is free. If you opt for a separate wedding venue, make these plans well in advance and keep up-to-date on progress and changes.

Reexamine your decision. Make sure you are making the right choice. If you change your mind, you can still use your Caribbean reservations for your honeymoon. You may, however, run into problems with guests. For that reason, reaffirm your decision to get married in the Caribbean before telling friends and family.

Tell your family. As soon as you decide on a destination wedding, tell your family. Do you have a mother who is excited about your engagement and wants to help you plan? If so, she may get started right away. Don’t give her the opportunity to be disappointed. When telling your family, know ahead of time if you want to invite guests.

Decide on a date. When deciding on a wedding date, give time. Most of your guests will want to attend, but some may need to save money first. If you want someone special to attend, such as a best friend, give them word of your plans before the official invite arrives in the mail. Also, make sure you and all guests have time to order and receive passports.

Make your travel plans. Once you decide on a date, it is important to check availability. With a large selection of Caribbean resorts to choose from, you should not have a problem getting a reservation. With that said, if you opt for a resort with a free wedding included, double check availability before providing guests with a specific date.

Decide who to invite. When planning a Caribbean wedding, you will face a tough decision in terms of guests. Who do you want to invite? Most want to keep their destination weddings small. Also, consider finances, but fairness. Not sending an invite to one aunt, but the rest because you assume she cannot afford is tricky. Send the invite and let her decide.

Inform guests. You will want to tell immediate family members in person first, but everyone else can receive a destination wedding invitation. As previously stated, destination wedding invitations should be sent at least two months in advance.

Order invitations. For the invitations themselves, you can use a standard wedding invitation or opt for a theme. Most online and local retailers have a large selection of destination wedding invitations available for sale. Announce your wedding plans with a beautiful beach scenery in the background.

Include travel information. In addition to a destination wedding invite, you should include other information. Although optional, consider giving guests information on travel. If you already booked your travel arrangements or researched options, you may know what airline reservations and Caribbean resorts have the best deals. Share this with your guests, as they will appreciate the tips.

Consider your plans. When extending Caribbean all-inclusive resort recommendations, keep your travel plans in mind. Most guests will not just travel for your wedding and leave; they will stay and have a vacation themselves. If you intend to honeymoon too, opt for a nearby hotel or resort. You want to enjoy your honeymoon, not turn around and see a family member every step you take.

Discuss at-home plans with family. Whether you have a number of guests that cannot attend your Caribbean wedding or if you don’t want to invite guests, discuss arrangements at home with your family. With Caribbean weddings, some couples do not get a big reception, but that is something that can be done later at home.
