Aerial photography and aerial videography are an important area of photography that is appreciated in the modern society. The advantage of using a helicopter is that the flexibility of movements which give the photographer or the video taker an excellent maneuverability and excellent control resulting in dramatic and clear shots. The disadvantage is that helicopter produce noise which may be a nuisance to public. Thats why this method is considered high-impact shooting. However, this method is very popular among movie makers, because of easy maneuverability.

4.Radio controlled aerial photography (RCAP):

This method uses a remote controlled helicopter to take photographs or video of the surrounding environment. Its a very economical and effective method, which allows the user more responsibility and control over any given situation. Additionally, this is some what low impact method. Numerous aerial photographic companies (exist all over United States) which popularly use RCAP. Although this method is popular, the human factor is lacking, as such photographers who are looking for high involvement and excitement may not use this method

The field of child photography is challenging but also both enjoyable and profitable – if you like children. Don\’t bother pretending, if you really don\’t. You may fool a parent – but not the little one.

Tips to help are: The techniques used in most other fields of photography do not always apply in child photography. The phrase “hold it” or “freeze” carry very little weight with children. They typically do as they please and if they please. Your assignment is to anticipate what a child may be about to do and capture it.

YOU can turn this into your advantage: Since children don\’t always do what you want them to do, or what you expect them to do (actually they rarely do!). A solution often is: don\’t expect them to become a cooperative little adult merely because you want to take their picture. Trick them – expect them to act like children. Don\’t expect anything in particular. DO this and you can enter the fun and profitable field of child photography.

Know your stuff – Before you start booking sessions with children you must know exactly what you are capable of doing – what your camera is capable of doing – what all your equipment is capable of doing. Operating your camera and equipment must be second nature. Have your style of photography down pat, so when you start a session your mind is on the children). This takes your complete focus. This is not the time to be fiddling with you camera, or trying to figure out your light setup. Children take 100% of your concentration. For some children the entire shoot may only last 10 minutes – though you feel you have just run a marathon – so you have to be able to get in position , get the most cooperation from the child, get great shots. At times, this has to be done very quickly, BUT you cannot make the child feel they are being rushed.

Know your subjects – With children, you must expect the unexpected. At different ages children are capable of doing different things. The more you know what they typically do during some of these stages, the better images you are going to capture. And the happier you make your clients – which, in turn, makes you financially happy.

During a session photographing children you can get a variety of poses, expressions and antics. In no other field of photography are you liable to get such variety. The more you learn about little ones the better child photographer you will be. Children are not just children until they become adults -they come in all sizes. Between four months and four years you can place them into quite a few categories: 4-6 mos, 6-12 mos, 12-18 mos, 18-24 mos, and then you can lengthen out the age span. Awareness of these ages are needed to help you – the photographer – be aware of the limitations children (especially little ones) have.

Listening to the parent can help toward a successful session. You can learn specific things about their child that will make it or break it: Are they afraid of certain things or sounds? What are their special likes? Do they like books? How comfortable are they with a stranger approaching them? You do NOT want to spook a little one; the scheduled time may not allow for you to win their confidence.

Be ready with that camera when you first introduce something new -you do not get a second chance to get first reactions!

In most areas of photography a tripod is great for sharp photos. However with child photography you do not always have such a luxury. Once they reach the moving around stage, a tripod limits your ability to capture expressions and poses. Be mindful of your camera settings – keep that shutter speed fast enough to prevent blurring – and be ready to move quickly!

Child photography allows for close-up portraits as well as the child engaged in some activity – taking their socks off – in a box / tub with toys – climbing on or out of something. There is really no limit. As you continue to gain experience in working with children of various ages you will become more adept at learning what typically works with different age groups.

Child photography is a challenge – but don\’t worry sometime it turns into children photography. Mom has twins – big brother / little sister – maybe three little cousins. The list goes on! Imagine two sister and they both have triplets! Other than the obvious difficulty of getting multiple little subjects in any semblance of position, conducive to a memorable photo you need to bring everyone’s eyes to a central focal point. Tricky, but not impossible. Adding something NEW to catch their attention, at the moment you press the shutter, can work. Use this sparingly, because when child photography turns into children photography getting all their attention on the same thing is quite a feat. The beauty of digital is no limits to the exposures you take and you can take a quick peek on the spot.

Parents can be quite helpful during the photo session. Children often are more confident with a parent nearby. Also, do not overlook the value of older brother and sisters. They have a relationship with the little one like no one else! Often they can get their little brother or sister to giggle, make faces, hold things and a host of other things that may be exactly what you need. Plus, you have the opportunity of including more subjects in the photos, which translates into a larger photo package for the customer!

As you advance in child photography you will want a lighting setup and a backdrop. A three light setup – consisting of a main light fill light and a background light – is ideal. However if you are just beginning you can do great photography with a lot less. Experiment, and add as needed. If you are using a backdrop keep the child at least four feet from the backdrop (if possible). This eliminates shadows and prevents the backdrop from competing with your subject.

Take your act on the road – You can do child photography at the park – on the beach – in the backyard, just as easily as in a studio or home – maybe more so – and nature will take care of the lighting for you, as long as you select open shade.

Items to have on hand: Depending on the ages and whether you are shooting indoors or outdoors you need a supply of items to catch and keep their interest and that look great in a photo: rattles feather dusters soft toys dolls hats mirrors a telephone (the bigger the better) a big whistle duplicate toys (for twins & overly competitive little ones) treats & snacks

When we think about photography it takes us decades and centuries behind. After a century when photography became a well known fact, the specializes and experts took care of photography in a more professional manner. Yet, in the recent trends photography is not necessarily done by professionals to click good images, thanks to the digital camera that has aided to click pictures by ourselves and that too with a professional effect. Primarily photography began in 1820s which was the time when the first photographs were lastingly captured which was possible due to scientific advancements. Scientist-Albertus Magnus and Georges Fabricius in the 13th and 16th century revealed silver chloride and silver nitrates respectively that were sensitive to light. In the recent times, silver chlorate is used to make photographic paper as it is sensitive to photons and shows a suppressed picture initially and after photo reduction the actual film is developed. In the year 1825, a French inventor, Nicephore Niepce, invented the first photograph, an image was captured in olden adaptation of camera, which was a long and a difficult procedure and took almost eight hours of exposure to direct sunlight, to develop into a true picture. Later on, the silver compounds, like those discovered by Magnus and Fabricus, were used by Niepce along with the experiment of Johann Heinrich Schultz, in 1972, which proved that a amalgamation of chalk and silver compounds become darker on exposure to sunlight which aided Niepce to succeed in his discovery of photography. This discovery has led to a successful photography which is being practiced till now. Louis Daguerre and Niepce worked together and developed the photo reduction process in the year 1883, after which Niepce died of a severe heart attack leaving the whole work on Daguerre\’s shoulders who further made two main inventions in the field of photography called Daguerreotype. Similar to daguerreotype, in 1832 a French-Brazilian painter along with the great inventor Hercules Florence came out with Photographie, now popularlwell known as Photography. This is almost like Polaroid photos that are used today. In the year 1840, Fox Talbot took a huge leap and advanced photography which was further developed by an astronomer, John Hershel. Then came George Eastman who refined Talbot\’s advancement and development, George Eastman\’s expansion is used in today\’s chemical cameras\’. Hippolyte Bayard also had a chief contribution in rising photography, but because of his late announcement does not share the recognition to photography. The daguerreotype gathered a lot of recognition in the entire industrial revolution, as the people asked photographs for themselves. Photographs became highly popular and most needed, but due to the restrictions of daguerreotype like these photos were hard to copy and were very delicate, George Eastman helped it out, in 1884, by using dry gel on paper. This became an easy and reasonable way of photography. In the year 1888, Kodak camera came in the market which was released by Eastman with the slogan “You push the button, we do the restâ€?. This was a major development which attracted the whole market, and with Kodak Brownie, in 1909, even a layman could click pictures for you. Recently, the recent inventions has popularized digital photography, but now what you enjoy the most of photography, which is the sincere efforts and hard work of intelligent scientists in the past.

Although the age of digital cameras has made it easier than ever to get good photos, you still need good photographic techniques to get the best results. It is alright to just point, shoot, and hope for the best. You will often get some great shots this way. But you will get even better results with your digital SLR camera if you understand some photography techniques. This will help you go from getting just good shots to getting amazing shots. The added benefit is you are in control of the situation and can reproduce the results over and over again. With a digital SLR camera you can afford to experiment. If you don’t like the result, you can just delete it and start again.

Photography Lighting Techniques

Lighting can be either your best friend or worst enemy. Lighting techniques in photography are varied and can be easy or they can be difficult, it’s upt to you. It will depend on what you are shooting. Maybe you want to take photos of cityscapes at night or photos in full sunlight – for good results you will need to understand good photography lighting techniques. Once you understand the basics of photography lighting techniques you will transform your photos into works of art.

Indoor Lighting Photography Techniques

There are different types of lighting you can use for indoor shots. Try using natural lighting that comes from windows, ceiling lights, candles, log fires, and any other indoor lighting. Many photographers use this to give a natural feel to their work. Often, though, there may not be enough natural light indoors. If this is the case, take a tip from portrait photography lighting techniques. Portrait photographers use big lights to flood their subject for the best results. The good thing is you can experiment with the light you have indoors.

Try taking a photo of your subject in different parts of the room using different types of lighting. This will give you an idea of what works. Experiment with the early morning sun streaming through the window then try backlighting the same subject and see the different effects. Indoor lighting subjects include a whole host of techniques and methods. It will become a natural instinct the more you play around with different effects.

Black and White Photography Techniques

Black and white photography techniques can produce some really nice results. If you are using a digital SLR camera, you will most likely have the option to capture your photos in black and white mode. Don’t use this mode. Use full colour so you get the full depth of light and shade. Use a photo manipulation program like Adobe Photoshop to transform your image into black and white. This gives you the flexibility to manipulate the output which you would not have if you took the photo in black and white.

If you really want to experiment with your camera in black and white mode, try using side lighting. Side lighting will create shadows on ordinary objects and give them a different perspective. This is an effective black and white photography technique that has great results on objects that are highly textured. Experiment by changing the camera angle and different lighting techniques. Use side lighting to enhance your black and white landscapes, people and buildings.

Street Photography Techniques

Street photography can produce some amazing results. They are shots of day to day occurrences; outdoor shots taken as asnapshot in time. Standing still or squatting while you watch and listen is a good technique; focus on what is happening around you. See the world differently. There is nothing more interesting than a candid shot of a moment in time. Here are some street photography techniques that may help you when out on the street:

- Tune into your surroundings. Learn to sense moments of climax such as laughter or loud voices.

- Be relaxed and enjoy your surroundings.

- Use crowded places you can walk in and out of to get your candid street shots.

- Don’t be invasive of people’s personal space, try using a zoom lens. This will not always work and you can lose some of the emotion you are trying to capture.

- Learn to take photos without bringing the camera to your eye. Practice taking photos from any position.

There is so much to learn about photography and, the more you learn the more addictive photography becomes.

Digital photography is a new subject; but it has made its way to the modern art galleries very fast. Digital photography is a modern form of art that has been well-accepted all over the world.

Modern art galleries that feature various modern art forms are now promoting digital photography as well. Macro photography, portrait photography, landscape photography, commercial photography or abstract photography – all can be practiced with digital cameras. Moreover, preservation and reproduction of digital photographs are very easy.

Art galleries help artists display their work and promote their skill. Art galleries existed in ancient time. Kings and members of royal families used to set up such platforms to incorporate and popularize arts and culture among the population.

What is an Art Gallery?

An art gallery is a building capable of accommodating huge number of people at a time. The building generally has lots of rooms where the art exhibitions are held. In an art gallery more than one art exhibition can be arranged simultaneously. Landscape or macro photography, sculpture, illustrations, paintings and handicrafts etc. are the main subject of art exhibitions. Performing arts or applied arts are also displayed in various art galleries.

Art galleries provide budding artists with a platform where they can exhibit their talents. Their creations are displayed to the art lovers. Art exhibitions not only bring them recognition, but help them earn some money as well.

Art lovers and collectors keep visiting contemporary art galleries to buy photographs, paintings, sculptures or handicrafts. Buying the same item from an antique house may become more expensive for the buyers. Since, art galleries often promote fresh artists; you get the chance to see latest art trends there.

Art galleries are generally set up at a prominent location in the cities so that people from different parts of the city, state, country or world can reach the gallery easily. Arts schools and colleges often establish their own art gallery to help students display their work.

Modern Art Galleries

Modern art galleries are extremely useful for people who are seeking career in art and craft. Recognition, fame and money – all can be earned by displaying their works in famous art galleries of the world.

Common people can visit art exhibitions and can purchase paintings, photographs or other pieces of art. Government of the country also helps artists by setting up art galleries which are run by artists.

Modern art galleries help promote modern arts

Everything changes with time; the only ‘constant’ in this universe is ‘change’! Art has undergone multiple changes; talented artists have blended popular art forms of one region with that of another to start a new stream. Painting, sculpture, photography – all forms of art have entered the modern phase.

Digital photography is the most modern form of photography; here technology has enhanced the process. People, who know the photography basics and are creative by nature, can learn digital photography techniques in no time.

Digital cameras are quite handy; lots of user manuals, guide and digital photography tutorials are available in print or on the internet to assist people who are interested to take up digital photography as career.
